2026 Holiday IRB Meeting Schedule

NIH IRB meetings will not be held on several dates in late December. Study teams with greater than minimal risk studies approaching expiration should plan ahead and submit continuing reviews early to avoid a lapse in IRB approval.

2026 Holiday IRB Meeting Schedule

NIH IRB meetings will not be held on December 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, or 31, 2026. The last NIH IRB meeting of 2026 is scheduled for December 17, 2026.

Plan Ahead for Continuing Review

If your greater than minimal risk research study is scheduled to expire during this period or within the first two weeks of January 2027, please plan ahead to avoid a lapse in IRB approval.

Continuing Review (CR) submissions should be submitted at least six weeks before the study expiration date to allow sufficient time for IRBO pre-review and assignment to an IRB meeting before approval expires.
