VAMI notice for research participants
Information describing the new Visitor Access program (VAMI) and entry requirements for NIH campus
Working together OD, OHSRP and CC leadership have developed the attached information sheet describing the new Visitor Access program (VAMI). It is imperative that current and prospective research participants be provided with a clear description of the entry requirements so that they may make an informed choice as to whether or not to visit the NIH campus.
The letter will be sent to all current CC patients/participants through HIMD and it will be posted on the NIH Clinical Center webpage. It will also be included in materials all new incoming patients receive. However, we are strongly encouraging research teams to provide this to prospective participants at the earliest opportunity, even before they enroll in any protocol or register with the CC. For example, in studies that provide the informed consent document to potential participants ahead of time, the attached document could also be provided.
Please note, this document is not considered protocol recruitment material and therefore does not need to be submitted as part of any protocol to the IRB for approval.
Please be prepared to support your current patients who may have questions or concerns about accessing the NIH campus.
OHSRP is not able to answer any questions about the VAMI initiative or the entry process.
