Policy and Accreditation

The office of Policy and Accreditation within OHSRP is responsible for:

  • Maintaining accreditation of the NIH IRP HRPP.  The OHSRP seeks to be a national leader in human subjects protections.  NIH is accredited by the Association for Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). This accreditation is an indication that the NIH prioritizes human subjects research that protects the rights, safety and welfare of its research participants. Accreditation is a commonly accepted indicator of quality and excellence, important both to potential research participants and to our scientific collaborators. For more information about accreditation activities and the role you play, see: https://irbo.nih.gov/confluence/display/ohsrp/HRPP+Accreditation
